| The legal firm of ABOGADOS ASOCIADOS DE FORTUNY S.L. was founded in Barcelona in 1897 by two outstanding figures of Catalan politics, Mr. ENRIQUE MAYNES GASPAR, eminent Lawyer and Mayor of the city, and Mr. CARLOS DE FORTUNY, BARÓN OF ESPONELLA Jurist, Member of Parliament and Senator. It is one of the oldest firms in Spain in existence for a continuous period. |

| In 1962 the grandson of the founders. Antonio de Fortuny y Maynés, upon on his return from various visits to the United Estates and England, took charge of the firm and proceeded with its integration into the opening up of Spain subsequent to its international isolation, adapting same to the needs and trends this involved. He went on to convert the firm into a modern and efficient practice, incorporating new Anglo-Saxon methods to its management policy, specialising in the legal problems involved with foreign investment in Spain.In the last 50 years the firm has undergone considerable expansion, both in size and personnel, incorporating to same as Vice President, Alejandro de Fortuny, great-grandson of the founders. |
